Inside our Game Lodge in GautengOur Game Lodge in Gauteng offers affordable self catering accommodation close to Pretoria and Johannesburg, with a choice of three different luxury lodges. Stonechat Game Lodge is near Pretoria (45 minutes) and only 90 minutes from Johannesburg and OR Tambo Airport. We offer activities for groups and families. Game drives on safari vehicles can be arranged. Jakkalsbessie lodge and Hadeda lodge each has its own private splash pool, but all the lodges can also use the swimming pool on the reserve. Situated on the 1500ha Wilgeriver Nature Reserve, we are within easy access to the N1, N12 and N4 close to Johannesburg and Pretoria. The fact that you rent out a whole lodge for a set price, which can accommodate big groups, makes our lodges a very affordable accommodation option.

This Nature Reserve is located on 6km unspoiled Head Waters of the Wilge River. To date this wilderness in Eastern Gauteng has been undiscovered, it is teeming with wildlife and 200 species of bird. Hiking trails take one through a diversity of Fauna and Flora, breath-taking rock formations a variety of habitats that seem worlds apart.

Jakkalsbessie Lodge (sleeps 10 people) is a stunning self-catering camp consists of five en-suite chalets. Its elevated position offers spectacular views on the game reserve and perennial river from a private veranda. Sleeping ten, this Lodge is perfect for a group of friends or family. Relax in the lounge with an exquisite fire place and bar or venture out onto the veranda and private lapa with braai area.

Hadeda Lodge (sleeps 8 people) is a self-catering holiday home with a spectacular view on the Wilge river. It is a place to escape from your normal routine, where you can write, read, take a long walk or simply relax and drink a glass of wine. Wag n Bietjie Lodge (sleeps 10 people) offers guests a bush ambiance with views immensely wide. Animal herds roam and graze around the lodge so be sure to pack your binoculars. This lodge sleeps ten in four bedrooms each with a double bed. The forth spacious en-suite room has two single beds and a double bed. Wag n Bietjie lodge is perfect for a large family or a group of friends.
